Director of reCOGNITION Learning

The Director of reCOGNITION Learning – Ms Anita Samson – holds a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours, both from the University of Sydney. Anita is a Registered Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a qualified teacher with extensive experience counselling children and adolescents. Anita has worked as a School Counsellor in more than thirteen schools in NSW and also has over fifteen years of experience teaching and tutoring students in both the public and private sectors.

Anita also works extensively for the not-for-profit sector, providing psychology advice and delivering specialised workshops and professional development seminars to parents, teachers, school principals, and other professionals in education and child related services.

Anita is driven to find the most effective and meaningful ways of integrating psychology and teaching to produce truly holistic education programs. Anita is also considered an expert in collaborating with parents, teachers, doctors, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and other professionals to create education programs that work for individual students.

Staff

reCOGNITION Learning currently employs one psychologist and eleven staff members (specialist English, Mathematics and Science tutors). All staff at reCOGNITION Learning - regardless of specialisation (i.e. tutors, psychologists or counsellors) - are highly trained and skilled, individually selected for their outstanding potential as the next generation of leaders, teachers and educators. 

reCOGNITION Learning has also provided a great deal of training to its staff, to allow them to understand the nuances of a holistic approach to education.

Specifically, reCOGNITION Learning’s tutors are trained:
  • to be intimately familiar with the new NSW primary and secondary syllabuses for the Australian curriculum; 
  • in traditional as well as more innovative approaches to teaching; 
  • by a qualified and experienced teacher and psychologist to understand and appreciate the links between child development, emotional wellbeing and learning.
